Supported Platforms
CrystalAEP is freeware and is available for direct download from this site. At present the product supports only 32-bit programs although it runs on both natively 32 and 64-bit versions of Windows. At present Crystal has been tested on Windows XP x86 with IE6, IE7 and IE8 and Windows 7 x64 with IE8 and IE9, although the product should work fine on any version of Windows from XP and onwards running IE6 or better.
The anti-exploit functionality provided by CrystalAEP has been tested with all the leading browsers as well as a varied selection of media playing, word processing and email software. Presently the product only provides support for browser traffic filtering to Internet Explorer although in future editions it is planned that this support will be extended to Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari running on Windows.
Although Crystal has been tested on a variety of different machines with different versions of Windows and different software packages installed, it is inevitable that there will be some systems for which Crystal does not work properly by default. If you discover that Crystal causes any of the programs it's protected not to work as expected (or worse still to crash) then please configure Crystal to either run at a lower mode (such as Moderate), or disable the software entirely via the main interface (above). It is of course hoped that Crystal will not interfere with day-to-day tasks at all, as most of its beta testers have confirmed.
Anti-virus Warnings
Users of anti-virus software and certain web browsers have reported that Crystal is occasionally blocked by their software. If this happens please do email me at admin@crystalaep.com with details as to which product blocked Crystal and I will be in contact with the respective anti-virus vendor to ask them to put Crystal on their list of trusted applications.
If your browser or anti-virus software attempts to block Crystal, please choose the appropriate "Allow" or "Permit" option if you still wish to use Crystal; the anti-virus software is mistaken in its identification of Crystal as untrustworthy software.

AVG Free/Commercial - Apparently presents a warning against downloading Crystal but it is easily overridden. Please allow Crystal to install and run.

Prerequisites
CrystalAEP is written in C++ and C# using the .NET framework 2.0. It is necessary to have the .NET 2.0 runtime installed to run Crystal. To determine whether you currently have the .NET 2.0 runtime installed simply install Crystal and attempt to run the application. If it does not load the main application form then you will need the .NET runtime which can be obtained from Microsoft at http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=19.
